LB150T-12 Won't start, again!

Postby volcanie on Fri Jul 30, 2010 3:12 am

I bought this scooter in June 2010. I rode it for about 2 weeks when suddenly one day while warming it up, it died. I tried restarting it then, no start. It was low on gas but not empty. So I added gas (full tank)about 2 hours later, it started but while warming up it quit and wouldn't start. I left the scooter at my job. I went back to try it about 3 hours later it started, then died again. I ended up getting it towed home that night. It never started again for the next 4 days, then one day it started and I rode it about a week without a problem, then suddenly after a lengthy ride I went to start it about thirty minutes later and it hasn't started since. replace the following parts and still not getting no fire or spark: CDI, coil, regulator rectifier and spark plug. help please!!! Can driving the scooter up to the red line be a problem and if so what is that problem. I drove it about 65pmh the morning the first time this happened and I drove it about 60mph the second time. Any suggestions welcome, Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a problem with the ignition coil sometimes when they warm up they will short out if they are older.

I replaced the coil that came with the scooter. I have a brand new coil on it, the scooter has never started with the new coil.

It could be the electric choke on the side of the engine. I'd try that next, plus it's pretty cheap here.
